Michael Sharp, Principal and Managing Director
Michael founded Sharp Capital Group to invest in Canadian small business, providing Canadian business owners with a custom-tailored exit option. Prior to SCG, Michael partnered with management to grow some of Canada's leading businesses as a management consultant for The Boston Consulting Group in Toronto. The Boston Consulting Group is an International strategy and general management firm whose mission is to help leading corporations create and sustain shareholder value. Michael has worked extensively with top management in Canada's Healthcare, Financial Services, Consumer Goods, and Retail industries to grow revenue and increase profitability.
Michael is originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and now resides in Toronto with his wife Hilary and dog Harry. Michael is an active member of the community, focusing on youth education and development through extensive involvement with Right to Play, Pathways to Education and Camp Oochigeas. Michael holds an HBA from Ivey School of Business at Western University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Bill Aziz, Investor and Advisor
As President of BlueTree Advisors, Bill has more than 27 years of advisory, turnaround and corporate restructuring experience. Bill has led restructurings as an executive or board member in diverse industries, including softwood lumber, steel manufacturing, refrigerated warehousing, transportation, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, and media. He has dealt extensively with unions in collective bargaining and restructurings and is currently Chief Restructuring Officer of U.S. Steel Canada.
Bill is a director, member of the Human Resources Committee, and Chair of the Investment Committee of OMERS (the $75 billion Ontario Municipal Employees’ Retirement System) and a director, Chair of the Audit and member of the Human Resources and Compensation Committees of Maple Leaf Foods. He is a
member of the Advisory Board of Fengate Capital and is a member of the Leadership Advisory Council for Cross-Enterprise Leadership at the Ivey School of Business at Western University. Bill is an alumnus of Ernst & Young and a graduate of the Ivey School of Business at Western University. He has studied negotiation and multi-party dispute resolution at Harvard Law School and has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Governance College at the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.
John Bragg, Investor and Advisor
John Bragg, President and Co-CEO of Oxford Frozen Foods Limited graduated from Mount Allison University with degrees in Commerce and Education. Mr. Bragg established Oxford Frozen Foods in 1968. Today, he is the CEO of various Bragg Group businesses and serves as an active member on the board of directors for companies such as Maple Leaf Foods Inc. and TD Bank. He remains actively involved with the company and continues to re-invest heavily in the future of Oxford Frozen Foods and the community that surrounds it. Mr. Bragg has received several entrepreneurial and educational awards and he is the past Chancellor of Mount Allison University and holds Honourary Degrees from several universities. He lives in Collingwood, Nova Scotia with his wife, Judy. He has two sons and two daughters who take active roles working in the various businesses.
Richard Lan, Investor and Advisor
Richard Lan has over 30 years of experience in the global food industry, most recently as the CEO of Canada Bread Company and COO of Maple Leaf Foods Inc. In his role at Maple Leaf Foods, Richard led the restructuring and strategic growth of the bakery business, and assumed overall operating leadership for the food businesses, harvesting synergies between the meat and bakery business.
Mr. Lan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island. He was President of Dell Products Corp. until that business was sold to McCain Foods in 1988. Mr. Lan then assumed the position of President and CEO of McCain Citrus, where he remained until he joined Maple Leaf Foods. Mr. Lan is a director of the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation.
David Shaw, Investor and Advisor
David Shaw is the Founder and Non-Executive Chairman of Knightsbridge. Prior to the acquisition of Knightsbridge by LHH, Mr. Shaw was the Founder and CEO of Knightsbridge Human Capital Management Inc. The Knightsbridge business was started in 2001 and built through a series of acquisitions to become Canada’s premiere human capital consulting firm.
Prior to founding Knightsbridge Human Capital Management Inc., Mr. Shaw was President and CEO of Pepsi Cola Canada Beverages from 1996 to 1999. Mr. Shaw’s career with PepsiCo spanned twenty-two years within Canada and abroad in Australia, Southeast Asia (Singapore) and Turkey, where he held various levels of general management responsibility.
Mr. Shaw is the former Chairman of the North York General Hospital Foundation. He currently sits on the Queen’s School of Business Advisory Board, the Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee Inc. Board of Advisors, the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation Board and three publicly traded boards, Fiera Capital Corporation, Brick Brewing Co. Limited and Sleep Country Canada.
